“Our buildings are not ours. They belong partly to those who built them and partly to the generations of mankind who are to follow us. The dead still have their right to them. That which they labored for… We have no right to obliterate.”
– John Ruskin
Amy and Joe are two teachers with a grand plan to reduce, re-prioritize, and relocate. They know just enough about home renovation to believe they can fix up a one hundred year old house. Ignorance is bliss.
Can’t wait to see the transformation! I am enjoying reading how you narrate the decisions your family is making with breathing new life into the house.

Thanks, Kelly! Making the decisions and lining up everything is the hardest part so far. We don’t mind the work.

I, too, am a teacher and spent the last couple days of my winter break (and a couple of snow days) binge reading your blog. I LOVE your house and everything you’ve done with it… there’s a similar house near my current home that is begging me to come bring it back to life, even though we lack the DIY skills and financial means to do it. Oh, and it’s not for sale. 😦
